RQF Level 2

in Health & Social Care

Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care

Overview

This FutureQuals RQF (previously NVQ) is designed for carers just starting out in the industry, perfect for those who have very little experience in the care sector. As such, the programme covers a wide range of topics in order to build a strong foundation for working in care.

Students will complete a selection of both mandatory and optional units, with each unit holding a different credit value. Students must gain a minimum total of 46 credits in order to pass the course and the optional units chosen will help determine your care pathway.

Assessment

Our RQFs are completed via e-portfolio, but all students will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will be on hand to provide support throughout the RQF via phone and email. The assessor team is there to help students work to the best of their ability and complete the RQF in good time.

The e-portfolio is a collection of evidence submitted via our online portal, that verifies students’ competence in their chosen units. This evidence comprises a range of documents, varying from peer statements, presentations of evidence, and a series of question and answer sessions.

This evidence is usually collected via experience gained in the delegate’s workplace whilst they perform their usual working role and will cover a series of both competence and knowledge-based units. In the case of Level 2 and where the delegate has no current employment in care, we are able to assess the RQF via other means if necessary, although we always strongly advocate employment before starting the RQF.

Requirements

This course is designed for those with little care experience. However, working or volunteering in a care role is still a necessary requirement for delegates looking to enrol.

Duration

Delegates can complete their diploma in a time to suit them, and we do not have a set frame that students must adhere to. That being said, a good target time for completion time is around 9 months, although many of our students complete much sooner. If a student needs to put their diploma on hold, we do require a letter of commitment to the diploma so that they may return to the programme at a later date.
