Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care

Level 5 Pathways

  • Level 5 Adults Advanced Practice
  • Level 5 Adults Management
  • Level 5 Adults Residential Management

Overview

This FutureQuals accredited level 5 QCF Diploma is designed for those with existing employment in the health and social care sector as a deputy manager, or an equivalent role at this level.

The student will complete a selection of both mandatory and optional units, with each unit holding a different credit value. Students must gain a minimum total of 90 credits in order to pass the course.

The programme focuses units on both care and managing to ensure that students are able to fulfil a managerial level role with an extensive understanding of the chosen pathway subject. The course also ensures that students are aware of, and maintaining any legal requirements with which they must comply.

As well as the mandatory, delegates will also have a list of optional units, from which they must complete 16 credits worth. These optional units allow delegates to tailor the QCF to suit their chosen pathway.

Assessment

Our QCFs are completed via e-portfolio, but all students will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will be on hand to provide support throughout the QCF via phone and email. The assessor team is there to help students work to the best of their ability and complete the QCF in good time.

The e-portfolio is a collection of evidence submitted via our online portal, that verifies students’ competence in their chosen units. This evidence comprises a range of documents, varying from peer statements, presentations of evidence, and a series of question and answer sessions.

This evidence is usually collected via experience gained in the delegate’s workplace whilst they perform their usual working role and will cover a series of both competence and knowledge-based units.

Requirements

As assessment takes place in the workplace, students must be employed in a relevant vocational setting in order to enrol on the course.

Duration

Delegates can complete their diploma in a time to suit them, and we do not have a set frame that students must adhere to. That being said, a good target time for completion time is around 9-12 months, although many of our students complete much sooner. If a student needs to put their diploma on hold, we do require a letter of commitment to the diploma so that they may return to the programme at a later date.
